Day 34 – My journey to find reasons to vote for Hillary rather than just against Trump.

She understands the military better than, possibly, any politician.

She is waaaay too hawkish for my tastes, but she has done her homework and forged relationships with a variety of military leaders over decades.

As a Senator, the party’s leaders offered her a seat on either the Senate Foreign Relations Committee or the Senate Armed Services Committee. She chose Armed Services, spurning a long tradition of New York senators, like Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Jacob Javits, who coveted the prestige of Foreign Relations.

She attended every single meeting. All of them.

As a voter, it’s up to me and the people we elect to influence policy, but she has the knowledge and relationships to at least know what is going on. She’s a policy wonk.
