Day 33 – My journey to find reasons to vote for Hillary rather than just against Trump.
Hillary’s early, and later, legal career focused on those in need. She founded a Legal Aid Clinic attached to the University of Arkansas while a professor there.
She became the director of the legal aid clinic (and a professor of criminal law) at the University of Arkansas and ran the clinic for three years. There, she spearheaded a project to bring legal representation to inmates at Cummins Farm, one of the worst prisons in the state. In one case, she and her team file a 64-page amicus brief on behalf of Henry Giles, a mentally impaired black man who was sentenced to death by an all-white jury. (With Clinton’s help, Giles was spared the electric chair, and remains in an Arkansas prison to this day.)
